Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 'Third and Enlarged Edition.' If you're looking for a very solid and clean copy of this heavy book you might want to stop here. You can see the covers in the photos. There is no conspicuous staining or soiling. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There is one smallish crease off the top edge of the spine. There is only light crinkling and speck-sized bits of rubbing at the spine ends. The cover edges are in very good shape. The cover corners have, at worst, the tiniest bit of rubbing. The page edges look very good. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding, impressively is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages of the text all appear to be exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not discovering any conspicuous soiling. There is very little creasing. I'm not seeing any placeholder creases. A group of late pages have a tiny tip of the top corner crease. Another group of pages as a tiny nick at his outer edge, nothing much of anything, no tears. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. There are a great many illustrations, photographs, drawings, charts, All are in excellent condition. There was also a separate bill of sale for the purchase of the book from 1938, August 31st to be exact. The shop on Victoria Road, North Acton, in London. Here are the chapter headings, a little out of order, in a couple of cases: Propagation of electromagnetic waves, Directive Properties of Aerials, Frame Aerial Reception, The Bellini-Tosi System, Polarization Errors, Night Effect and Other Freak Phenomena, The Adcock Aerial System, Maps, The Shore or Aircraft Ground Station, Short-Wave Direction Finding, the Ship D. F. Installation, Beacon Transmitters for Fixed Courses and for Long-Range Navigation, Direction and Position Finding, Aircraft Approach and Landing Systems, Field and Nautical Astronomy Applied to Direction Finding, the Aircraft D.F. Installation, the Ship D.F. Installation.
