First edition of the author's first book, largely written from the viewpoint of a young teenage girl in Germany, and then in Japan as she struggles with the impact of the Holocaust, the wartime depredations of the Japanese Army against the Chinese in World War II, as "Ria plays her odd part in enacting a drama of 'sex plus time plus space.'".
