Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Castlemon, Harry (pseudonym of Charles Austin Fosdick, 1842-1915): THE BOY TRAPPER. Chicago: Donahue, n. d. [a gift inscription dated Christmas 1915 is probably close to the edition's year, of an 1878 title]. A bit worn but attractive pictorial binding depicting a Boy Scout. Evidence of a library card pocket having been removed but no other indications of it having been in any but a private library, but call it a near high end reading copy just in case. Besides the novel -- a wilderness hunting adventure plus hidden treasure -- there is also a short story at the rear, "The Perry Rubber Works," set in Iowa, which I doubt is by Castlemon, but it is a supernatural mystery. It replaces "A Balloon Hoax" which Donahue appended to their edition of The Boy Trapper in 1912.
