Fourché "1777 -… 1811 - Rue de la Ferronniere, Paris, Frankreich Waagenhersteller Münzwaagenmacher, Schwiegersohn und 1777 Nachfolger von CHEMIN NICOLAS. Der Betrieb lag in der Rue de la Ferronniere, im Gebäude "Charnier des Innocents, das 7. Geschäft wenn man von der rue Saint-Denis kommt". Im Innendeckel einer von ihm - Ende 18./Anfang 19. Jahrhundert - gefertigten Münzwaage mit abgerundeten Enden befindet sich ein Etikett mit folgender Inschrift: "No 177, AU Q COURONNE / FOURCHÉ, Balancier-Mécanicien, rue de la Feronneriee, à Paris". Er baute die Waage, die zum Abgleichen der Normale des metrischen System benötigt wurde. 1788 führte er für LAVOISIER die Dezimalteilung des Pariser Pfund aus. Von 1809 bis 1811 war er Teilhaber von CHEMIN und Waagmacher und Münzprüfer an der Pariser Münze. Viele seiner Waagen und Gewichte befinden sich noch am "Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers" in Paris (No 3248 -3265-3340). Diesen Namen führt eine Waage, auf welcher man Körper von sehr verschiedenen Gewichten mit einerley Gegengewicht abwägen kann. Pokok und Wallis leiten den Namen Romana aus dem Orient her, wo diese Wage noch jetzt sehr häufig gebraucht wird. Man giebt dem Gegengewichte insgemein die Gestalt eine Granatapfels, der bei den Arabern Romman heißt.
