The is the large-paper edition printed on japon, limited to 210 sets (this book is number 92). Please note that this is volume 1 only.

Green Silk. Condition: Very Good Minus. Dust Jacket Condition: No Wrapper. 1st English Edition. Type: Z A two volume set of this limited edition, being no.881 out of 1000 published. First English translation with an introduction by Anatole de Montaiglon. Bound in green silk with gilt embossed vignette to the front boards and lettering to the spines. Illustrated with 15 b/w plates with tissue guards, including a frontispiece plate to volume I - all as called for. There is light rubbing to the board and spine edges and the cloth at the head and tail of the spine is lightly turned in. Two board corners are bumped to both volumes and there are a few light stain marks to the boards. One split to the outer hinge of volume I measuring 1 cm and one split to the outer hinge of volume II measuring 2 cm in length. Slight split to the inner hinges of Volume I, though the boards to both volumes remain firm and tight. There are no inscriptions and there are a couple of slight stain marks to pp ix of Volume I - otherwsie the textblocks are very clean and tight. Rough cut fore edges and several unopened pages. A very good copy of this two volume limited set.

Volumes 3 & 4 are in less nice condition due to the top 1.5 inch of leather spine is pulled away from binding and volume 4 is missing the "Rabelais" paste on that the other 3 volumes have. A very rare example of the 4 volume set, not perfect but solid, attractive and readable.

Gently toned throughout, otherwise a clean pair internally. Some wear and chipping to spines and corners, and some toning also to spines. Very good.
