El autor se ha visto obligado a deconstruir los estereotipos sobre el movimiento político alemán para dar sentido a esta relación, y a continuación propone su propia clave historiográfica, inédita, que se basa en la relación entre el pensamiento de Fichte y el de los nacionalsocialistas, sustanciada posteriormente en opciones políticas. Este ensayo, que es la tesis doctoral del autor sobre este mismo tema, es el resultado de un camino de investigación que duró más de cinco años y estuvo salpicado de conferencias y publicaciones que permitieron una importante verificación en curso.
