In-folio, demi-basane verte, plats percaline, 6 pp. dont le titre frontispice et 35 pl., certaines datées 1836 et la dernière 1837. Reliure frottés, manque au dos en tête. Quelques rousseurs. Rare publication donnée par Thiollet, dont le nom est souvent associé à celui de Krafft pour lequel il grava de nombreux recueils d'architecture privée. Ce cours illustre parfaitement la technique et aide à promouvoir un système graphique dénué d'effet d'ombres et concentré sur les éléments essentiels d'une architecture.

An important French architectural pattern book. Widely used. This copy in much better than usually seen condition, though still a tad tired. 'Nouveau Recueil de Menuiserie et de Decoations Interieures et Exterieures' looks at prominent buildings in Paris, including ballrooms, restaurants, and shops, and examines the architectural details that make the buildings unique. The book also looks at monuments in Parisian gardens. With illustrations by Thiollett, Roux, and Perrot. Book plate to the front pastedown, 'William Habershon'. William Habershon was part of the Habershon & Fawckner architectural practice, who designed houses, villas, and chapels. William was the son of Matthew Habershon, also an architect, who wrote on architecture, and also published a memoir of Charles Daubauz. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, 'W.G.Habershon, Dec 1848, The Priory, St Neots'. With sixty plates. Collated, complete. In the original half calf binding, with marbled paper boards. Externally, sound. Head and tail of spine is lifting, however remains firm. Rubbing to the boards has caused slight loss of leather, mostly to the extremities and only a little to the joints. Light rubbing to the marbled paper boards. Hinges are starting but remain firm. Book plate to the front pastedown, 'William Habershon'. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, 'W.G.Habershon, Dec 1848, The Priory, St Neots'. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with some light age-toning to the edges, and are generally clean with the odd spot and handling mark throughout.
