Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Age toning to the endpapers. Good. book.

There is a little edgewear to the binding, inside the pages are nice and clean. The text tells the roguish story of the clever little tailor, who by his wits rises from poverty to marry the (not exactly beautiful) princess, and there are 12 tipped in colour plates by Herbert J. Harvey. The text pages have a decorative border, and most also have a vignette of scissors and vine leaves or scissors and a coronet. 56 pages printed on heavyweight paper, colour plates tipped in onto grey card. A most attractive and amusing book.
