Leather is worn and soiled along with edge and corner wear/tears. Labels on spine are cracked with sections missing. Rear board is completely detached. Despite the rough exterior the binding on… the text pages is secure. Front pastedown contains the law publisher business label of Geo. T. Bisel Company along with the stamped name of the attorney E. R. Chambers of Bellefonte, PA. This is also stamped on the first end page. Front pastedown also contains two name cards, one over the other, with the name Charles Wallace Brook being the only one readable. There is also a faint signature on one of these cards which is to light to read. Front end page also has a chip missing from the center of the outside edge. Title page has a light signature along the top edge written in pencil appears to read R. K. Scott. No other handwriting found in book, no library markings. Pages are toned due to age and spotting and foxing is present throughout. Note: this is the original publication from the 1800s and not a modern reprint. This is volume 1 only as each volume was published independent of each other and over a range of multiple years.
