NY: Privately Printing, 1923. Small 8vo., pictorial blue boards; 63 pages. First Edition. With the ink signature of Rosalie Gardiner Jones, well-known U.S. Suffrage movement leader. Also known as "General Jones," she was famous for leading lengthy marches in support of the Suffrage movement. In Feb. 13, she led 200 women from New York City over a 175-mile trek to Albany, NY, in 17 days. Jones [1883-1978] was born in Cold Spring Harbor, NY and she is also buried there. Very Good (covers nice, contents clean & tight). An uncommon signature, the only other signature I have found was on a postcard, along with the signature Elizabeth Freeman, that recently sold at a York, Pa auction for $253. The purchaser then apparently relisted it on Ebay at almost $350. Our copy: $100.00.

The lovely fashion plates on glossy paper are all in excellent condition.Originally founded as Maison Givelet in 1723, Revillion Frères was a renowned French fur and luxury goods company. It was bought by Louis-Victor Revillon in 1839 and successfully developed with the establishment of new fur shops in London, New York and Montreal in the 1860s. Their success encouraged the creation of a profitable fur industry in Europe and North America. At the beginning of the 20th century, French fashion designers such as Madame Isidore Paquin and Paul Poiret introduced stylish fur clothing in their regular fashion collections.
