Z : 136 Seiten, 21 x 28 cm, zahlreiche s/w Abbildungen - Als Wicki 1952 die Fotografie für sich entdeckte, war er so fasziniert, dass er sich von seinem Engagement am Münchner Staatsschauspiel freistellen ließ, nach Paris ging und dort 'wie ein Besessener' arbeitete. Im Zentrum seines Interesses stand der Mensch, den er auf seinen Streifzügen durch Städte und Länder bei seinen alltäglichen Handlungen beobachtete. Wicki zeichnet so ein eindrückliches Bild von der Zeit nach den katastrophalen Ereignissen des Zweiten Weltkriegs, die geprägt ist von Einsamkeit, jeder Utopie beraubt, und doch zugleich nicht ohne Menschlichkeit und Hoffnung auskommt. Darüber hinaus hat er in sehr intimen Aufnahmen seine Künstlerkollegen porträtiert, so die junge Romy Schneider, Horst Buchholz und Maria Schell, aber auch Schriftsteller wie Friedrich Dürrenmatt und Max Frisch. 1960 werden Wickis Fotografien in einem bibliophilen Band des Züricher Interbook Verlags unter dem Titel 'Zwei Gramm Licht' veröffentlicht, versehen mit einem Vorwort von Friedrich Dürrenmatt. 1961 erhält er eine Einzelausstellung in der Galerie Diogenes in Berlin. Doch schon zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatte Wicki die Fotografie aufgegeben und sein fotografisches Werk geriet in Vergessenheit.
