Condition: Very Good +. Cover Art by Jeff Jones. (illustrator). Minimal shelf handling; The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, age-toning; Partial fold upper rear corner; Appears unread; no spine crease. Arthur Olney Friel, once a newsman turned adventurer in South America, became one of the most popular writers for the adventure pulps. Drawing from his own experiences, Friel crafted stories that often-borrowed imagery and plot devices from The Odyssey and Zane Grey. Such is this tale which follows a group of four Americans and a Peruvian as they embark on hair-raising adventures deep in the jungles of South America. While Friel's work may not stand out as a literary masterpiece, its real intrigue lies in its value as a social document of its time.
