hardcover. Condition: very good. Per saper misurare tutte le cose, che si possono veder coll'occhio cosi in lunghezza, & larghezza; come in altezza, & profondita. Engraved printer's device on title page. Illustrated with 16 engravings, of which 8 are full-page; numerous fine decorative initials and headpieces. [12], 60pp. Short thin 4to (measures 6.25 x 8.5 inches), bound in contemporary brown calf with blind and gilt- tooled armorial covers (rubbed; joints starting but still very firm; very clean internally). Venetia: Apresso Giordano Ziletti, 1564. Text in Italian. A scarce book detailing how to take survey measurements using the Holometro instrument. The illustrations in this work depict the holometro, a surveying instrument similar to a theodolite, with diagrams and views of buildings and cities in landscapes, illustrating its uses in measuring angles and distances between objects. The gilt- stamped arms on the covers are those of Pedro de Osorio, Marques de Astorga, Spain. Adams F802; Wellcome I, 2476.
