Tirage limité à 1520 exemplaires. Yun Gee (1906-1963) est un artiste moderniste sino-américain. Il a vécu et peint à San Francisco, Paris et New York, et est considéré comme l'un des peintres d'avant-garde les plus audacieux de son temps. Ce livre rare, publié en France juste avant le retour de Yun Gee en Amérique après trois années passés à à Paris, est probablement son seul et unique travail d'illustration de livre. Il était alors considéré comme l'un des artistes modernistes sino- américains les plus importants de son temps; les deux planches en couleur du livre reflètent l'influence cubiste, l'une tentant de mélanger le modernisme européen avec un thème chinois.
