Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. xv, 907 pp; illustrations. Original cloth. Name of former owner printed in ink on front flyleaf. Very Good, although I am tempted to write Near Fine, as this is one of the nicer copies I have come across. Included is a photocopy of the four page "Erratum". First Edition. Edward C. Halperin, "The Pornographic Anatomy Book? The Curious Tale of 'The Anatomical Basis of Medical Practice'," (originally published in the journal Academic Medicine, vol. 84, no. 2, 2009, pp. 278-283). Halperin's excellent article can be read online for free. ABE Books will not allow me to give the url, but just search for the title of this book and the article will come right up. Another good article about is Rosalind A. Coleman & James Rolleston, "Anatomy Lessons: The Destiny of a Textbook, 1971-72", South Atlantic Quarterly, Vol. 90, no. 1, 1991, pp. 153-173.
