Archive of two Shooting scripts and over 90 pages of production documents belonging to the Second Assistant Director Carol D. Bonnefil, with her name in red manuscript ink at the top of the first page of the shooting schedule, as well as the recipient of two type letters signed found in the archive. The archive is largely contained in a generic black three-ring binder with the white marker annotation of the title on the spine, which contains: A 70 page Shooting Schedule, dated 3/2/88, with the red ink annotation of Bonnefil's name on the first leaf. A nine page "Day Breakdown" with manuscript pink, purple, orange, and blue highlighter annotations on every page. A ribbon typescript letter signed on "Mississippi Burning" letterhead from Assistant Production Manager and Production Coordinator Judith Lyn Brown to Second Assistant Director Brenda Kalosh and Second Second Assistant Director Bonnefil, regarding contracts, production documents, and schedules, dated February 11, 1988. A nine page contact list preceded by a ribbon typescript letter signed, on "Mississippi Burning" letterhead, from Assistant Production Coordinator Michael Boonstra to Bonnefil, regarding the shooting schedule and contact list, dated February 22, 1988. A three page cast list with manuscript pencil annotations checking characters. Bonnefil's working Shooting script, dated "February, 1988," noted as "Alan Parker's Draft," with a manuscript ink annotation of copy number "96" on the title page, and manuscript pencil and marker annotations on nearly every page. And a character shooting schedule, start date 3/7/88, with pink highlighter annotations, laid into the pocket in the rear of the binder. Also included is a second Shooting script, dated "February, 1988," noted as "Alan Parker's Draft," with a manuscript ink annotation of copy number "155" on the title page, with a manuscript marker annotation striking a detail on page 65. Loosely based on the murders of Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) civil rights activists James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner by members of the Ku Klux Klan on June 21, 1964, in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe star as two FBI agents, investigating the disappearance of three civil rights activists in 1964 Mississippi, who are met with hostility by the town's residents, police, and the town's local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. Winner of an Academy Award for Best Cinematography, nominated for six other Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director. Set in the fiction town of Jessup County, Mississippi, shot on location in Mississippi and Alabama. Three-Ring Binder: Housed in a generic black three-ring binder. Script preceded by 93 pages of Shooting Schedules and production documents. Title page present, dated February, 1988, noted as SHOOTING SCRIPT, with credits for screenwriter Chris Gerolmo. 177 leaves total, 92 script leaves, with last page of text numbered 103.
