Paperback. Condition: Very Good. The work of 100 professional historians, this revised and updated reference book surveys the full story of mankind. Since the publication of the 3rd edition in 1989, every one of the atlas's 126 colour spreads has been reviewed in detail by a team of historians, and brought up to date to reflect the latest scholarship. Particular attention has been paid to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the emergence of new states across Eastern Europe. The growth of economic powerhouses in the Far East is also treated in detail, as are major themes of world importance, such as the North/South divide and the resurgence of the Muslim world. Four new spreads have been designed and 30 new maps have been added to this new edition. A major feature is the inclusion of 120 new colour illustrations. The cover has also been redesigned. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Softcover. Condition: Good. Some underlining and margin notes. The theoretical ferment which has affected literary studies over the last decade has called into question traditional ways of thinking about, classifying and interpreting texts. Shakespeare has been not just the focus of a variety of divergent critical movements within recent years, but also increasingly the locus of emerging debates within, and with, theory itself. This collection of essays, written by distinguished and powerful critics in the fields of literary theory and Shakespeare studies, is intended both for those interested in Shakespeare and for those interested more generally in the emerging debates within contemporary criticism and theory.

Digest. Condition: Good+. Powell, Turner, and Ernst (illustrator). First Edition, 1st Printing. A nice copy of the Winter 1950 issue of the British science fiction magazine Science-Fantasy. This issue was the the second and last publication under the editorship of Walter Gillings. Science-Fantasy was published during the 1950s to accompany New Worlds magazine. In the late 1940s, Gillings had produced three volumes of his first science fiction venture "Fantasy" before it failed. As a result, he was left with a substantial amount of stories purchased with the intention of publication. In 1950, Nova brought on Gillings as its editor of their new magazine, Science-Fantasy. With him came the inventory of stories from "Fantasy." After only two issues (Summer and Winter 1950) Gillings was replaced by New Worlds editor John Carnell. This copy is in remarkable condition for its age and scarcity. Cover's have some light wear and the staples have corroded over time leaving its stain on the inner margins. A soft vertical crease permeates most of the 96 numbered pages paginated [i: inner cover advertisements], [1], 2-96, [97: inner back cover advertisement for the Fantasy Book Centre]. Binding is solid with no loose pages. Pages are clean and unmarked. A good+ copy that beats many seen recently come to market.
