By the Russian artist, Georges Annenkoff, also known as Yuri or Yury Pavlovich Annenkov [1889-1974]. 172pp, printed on hard stock watermarked paper [Linen Fiber], bound in stiff brown paper covers with yap edges, complete with 80 illustrations of which 10 are color plates, and 27 are black and white plates. all with descriptive tissue guards intact [in Russian and English], the balance being text illustrations throughout. SCARCE. First Limited Edition, this being one of 900 copies. Text is in Russian. From the personal collection of Lorna Marshall (1898-2002], a well known anthropologist that lived among the !Kung people of the Kalahari Desert, and author of several books based on her studies. The covers show edge wear/tear, interior binding is loose, one plate detached, lower edge damp mark on one plate, not affecting the image. The Dust Jacket shows edge wear/tear/chips, with a damp mark on the back, now housed in a protective mylar cover.
