Stapled Sheets. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Full-sized, 8 1/2" x 11", four sheets side stapled, mimeographed both sides. Some moisture stains, gentle creases, and rusty staples. First issue (and possibly only) of this news paper, mainly written by Giampa, who would have been 16 years old at the time. Mainly concerning the Canadian Federal election of 1965 in which the candidates for Prime Minister were Pearson, Diefenbaker, Douglas, Thompson, and Caouette. Giampa interviews the local Communist candidate Caron, and writes articles about John Diefenbaker and Jack Davis. Charles Butterfield, first year student at UBC, writes a 1 1/2 page article about the upcoming election "The Students' Viewpoint".

Here Giampa addresses those potential customers that demand 'impeccable taste & consummate workmanship' in their printed goods; promising 'the finest of papers, machined or hand-made, hand-set types of exquisite proportions, and hand-mixed inks of perfect colour & tone'. A scarce piece of testament advertising from Giampa at Cobblestone Press & suitable for framing.

Vancouver.From 1975 to 1981 Giampa owned and operated Cobblestone Press and later expanded his business and renamed to Northland Letterpress. I'm guessing that this printed announcement of purchasing the collection of typesetting material was somewhat experimental and meant for special clients & close friends,and not produced for profit.(?) Written, designed, illustrated, and typeset by Jim Rimmer (1934-2010) and digitalized and printed by Gerald Giampa (1950-2009); a fine copy. This broadside highlights F.W.Goudy's font, Hadriano, 'drawn and digitalized from newly cast metal types for a faithful translation of Goudy's original letterforms'.

An illustrated broadside, one sheet measuring 11.5 x 17.5 inches. Printed in black, green, red, and gray. Fine condition. This is the special issue: "A SPECIAL EDITION SIGNED & NUMBERED FOR THE SHAREHOLDERS OF GIAMPA TEXTWARE CORP". This is copy #3 of 25 copies signed by Jim Rimmer. This broadside is basically an advertisement for Giampa Textware Corp., and Goudy's Hadriano Font, "Now in Digital Font Format".
