He graduated from the Academy of Arts. Gevirts designed the House of Ablution and Burial Service for the Deceased and the Service Building in the Jewish cemetery, the building of the M.A. Ginsburg Jewish Almshouse, a number of rent houses, and the synagogue in Kharkov. He was the Secretary of the Architects and Painters Society. Under Soviet rule, he was a professor and dean of the Architecture Faculty of the Academy of Arts.
