A history of the ranching family who, in 1859, went beyond the frontier into the uncivilized country of what is now Palo Pinto County and settled on the Brazos River. The story of brutal conflicts between the settlers and Native Americans in Palo Pinto, and of the settlers' struggle to establish themselves on the frontier even while fighting for their survival. Their ranch still exists today. A fine bright copy in a bright dust jacket.
