Condition: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 640 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | It is a great pleasure to introduce this third, completely revised and updated edition of the s- cessful volume on multislice CT, which was frst published in 2002. It is amazing to observe the continuing rapid technological development in multislice CT and its new clinical applications. Tis volume again ofers a comprehensive overview of all recent new experimental and clinical research in this feld, but it also includes new chapters on dynamic volume CT with 320 detector rows and on fat detector CT. Numerous new and excellent illust- tions help to push this book into an even higher scientifc orbit. I am again deeply indebted to the editors, M.F. Reiser, C.R. Becker, K. Nikolaou, and G. Glazer, for their high level of dedication and eforts to edit this 3rd volume in such a short time period in order to include all the latest advances in multislice CT. I also congratulate the editors and the contributing authors, all internationally well-known CT experts, on the in-depth coverage of the individual chapters. Tis volume is a must for certifed radiologists to update their knowledge and a source of - sic information on CT for radiologists in training. Referring medical and surgical specialists will fnd it very useful for the daily clinical management of their patients. Leuven Albert L. B aert Series Editor Preface Multi-detector row technology has become an established CT imaging modality worldwide.

soft cover. Condition: Wie neu. Gebraucht - Wie neu This third revised edition of Multislice CT provides a comprehensive update on the newest developments and trends in the application of this exciting technique. Following an initial section on the most significant technical aspects and issues, detailed information is provided on a wide range of diagnostic applications. Imaging of the head and neck, the cardiovascular system, and the lungs is covered in depth, and a further section considers the application of multislice CT in a variety of tumors. Radiation exposure, CT angiography, dual-energy imaging, and interventions all receive close attention, and a final chapter examines the role of multislice CT in trauma management. Numerous highly experienced and well-known authors have contributed chapters from various perspectives, highlighting the possibilities offered by the most modern multidetector CT systems. This book will be particularly useful for general users of CT systems who wish to upgrade not only their machines but also their knowledge. -It is a great pleasure to introduce this third, completely revised and updated edition of the s- cessful volume on multislice CT, which was frst published in 2002. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - We are in the midst of major advances in medical imaging, converting static pre sentation of anatomic information into near real-time interactive imaging and displays capable of depicting both structure and function. This will have pro found impact on diagnosis and image-guided therapies. These advances have been most notable in the modalities of computed tomog raphy and magnetic resonance. These technologies have become capable of ac quiring volumetric images in short periods of time. Speed gains in MRI were very significant in the early 1990s with the development of clinically usable pulse se quences for gradient-recalled and echo-planar imaging. It appears that further speed gains in MRI will be difficult to achieve. The development of spiral CT has ushered in an era in which major speed gains in CT are also possible. This has enabled creation of new types of applica tions such as CT angiography, which has already come to replace catheter angio graphy at many medical centers throughout the world. We are very pleased that the results from industrial and academic laboratories have been transferred to the bedside to improve patient care at a speed that may be faster than in any other area of medicine. Concurrent with advances in CT technology there have been dramatic strides in the performance characteristics and costs of computer hardware and software.
