Condition: Very good. 40 cm folded stock certificate states bearer is proprietor of 5 shares. Not filled out. Purple ink on white paper. Printed by W. Straker Ltd., in London.
Condition: Near fine. 21 x 27 cm stock certificate numbered 229. Made out to H. Corry [sic] in the amount of 250 shares. Vertical creases from folding. Not cancelled. The buyer of the shares appears to have been Harrison Corey (1840-1905) of Petrolia, Ontario, owner of the Corey House Hotel and involved in many businesses. Eventually he got into the oil business and was one of Petrolia's largest producers. He formed a partnership with his son, Bloss Parsons Corey to manufacture explosives (we have stock certificates in B.P.'s name as well).
