Dettagliato testo esplicativo di una bella carta policroma, in formato cm.78x115, qui non presente, la cui stesura richiese un lavoro durato quasi venti anni. 1800 gr.

Carta geologica, in due fogli giuntati ed intelati, raffigurante parte del territorio romagnolo compreso tra i fiumi Montone e Foglia. La sua realizzazione, che durò quasi un ventennio, si deve al Comm. Giuseppe Scarabelli Gommi Flamini, il quale il 28 settembre del 1863 ricevette dal Consiglio Provinciale di Forlì l'incarico per la stesura di una carta geologica da utilizzarsi quale base per la stesura di una monografia economica, statistica ed amministrativa della provincia. Con lettera datata 20 aprile 1865 la Regia Prefettura di Forlì commissiona la realizzazione della stessa a Scarabelli e Giovanni Capellini. Nel maggio del 1868 quest'ultimo dovette rinunciare all'incarico per motivi famigliari. Venne sostituito nei lavori di rilievo da Cesare d'Ancona. AL 29 settembre 1868 il disegno era terminato e nel 1873 la carta era pronta per passare alla fase di incisione e finalmente nel 1878 la carta era pronta per essere data alla stampe. Sia durante i lavori di realizzazione della stessa che a lavori terminati la carta venne esposta in diverse occasioni ottenendo numerosi riconoscimenti: Esposizione agricola industriale di Bologna del 1869, Esposizione agraria industriale e di Belle Arti di Forlì del 1871, Esposizione geografica Internazionale di Parigi del 1875, Esposizione universale di Parigi del 1878. La carta fu rilevata in luogo alla scala di 1:50000 e qui ridotta alla scala di 1:100000. Alcuni segni del tempo, ma complessivamente buon esemplare di questo monumento cartografico.
