First American edition, 8vo, pp. [5], 10-291, [1]; frontispiece, foldding map, and 22 illustrations from photographs on 15 plates; original blue-gray cloth stamped in gilt on upper cover and spine; water spot on upper cover trailing to spine causing a small bubble in the cloth; all else very good, clean, and sound. "The author accompanied the Shaksgam expedition in 1926, and in 1928 he travelled through the Ladakh districts. Those accounts are involved in this book. The route of 1928: Srinagar - Leh - Nubra - Sasir Pass - Shyok - Tankse - Pankong - Leh - Chang La. This book is a general account of Ladakh" (Yakushi).
