"The author accompanied the Shaksgam expedition in 1926, and in 1928 he travelled through the Ladakh districts. Those accounts are involved in this book. The route of 1928: Srinagar - Leh - Nubra - Sasir Pass - Shyok - Tankse - Pankong - Leh - Chang La. This book is a general account of Ladakh" (Yakushi).
