Incorporated by royal charter in 1537 by King Henry VIII, it is the oldest regiment in the British Army and is considered the second-oldest military unit in the world. With details of the origin of the company, along with an appendix containing the roll of the company and the roll of the Victoria Cross. Written by Major G. Goold Walter, a British writer and secretary of the company. With a foreword by Captain William Rudolph Stephen Feilding, 10th Earl of Denbigh, 9th Earl of Desmond, a British peer. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the extremities with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good. book.
