"Ook na de onafhankelijkheid van Suriname in 1975 was de Nederlandse belangstelling voor de voormalige kolonie groot. Na de coup van Desi Bouterse in 1980 maakten de Nederlandse militaire inlichtingendiensten plannen om in te grijpen, al dan niet met internationale steun.
