Illustrations include a view of Fort Wadsworth, on the west side of the Narrows, New York Harbor, a small sketch map of New York Harbor, Krupp's 40 Centimetre Ri9fle mounted on Sea Coast Carriage, three of the great guns of different periods of the 19th century, the Gruson Cupola which forms part of the defences of Antwerp, Belgium, a wrought iron turret containing two 80 - ton guns which form part of the defences of Dover, England, a chart of the development of armor from 1860 - 1880, a view of Fort Horse - Sand forming part of the defences or Portsmouth, England, a small map showing the cities of the Atlantic Coast and their proximity to foreign naval stations, a view of Fort Lafayette on the east side of the Narrows, and a proposed arrangement of turrets on the site of Fort Lafayette. Housed in protective mylar report cover with spine sleeve.
