Hardcover. Condition: Good+. Frederic R. Gruger (illustrator). 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, blue cloth boards show toning to the edges and spine, edges and corners also show light bumps/wear. The text on the spine is unreadable and the gilt on the front is flaking off as well. The internal binding is good, no hinge issues and text pages are secure. Front end page has handwriting along the top edge which includes a price. It has been a raised but you can still see it. This is the only handwriting in the book, there is no underlining, no bookplates, no library markings etc. The text pages are clean although there is foxing around the frontispiece due to the two different types of paper. The only other issue found in the book is on page 311 where there is a chip missing at the bottom of the page. The chip measures about 3/4 of an inch and as well outside of the text block.
