Leather shows rubbing, separated along front joint but still firmly anchored by binding cords, some surface rubbing to boards. Undated but showing signature of former owner Joseph Bell at top corner of main title, dated 1797, and thus likely the first edition, from 1781 (as the second dates to 1799, two years after this signature). xii,13-251 pp., illus. w/ engraved plates. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and bumping to the extremities. Front joint starting to head of spine but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Light worming to the last few pages. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Very Good. book.
