Lovely ornate borders and historiated first letters. Colors are bright with gilt highlights. The gilt on the title-page is muted compared to other plates. Quite delicately done. All plates are protected with a blank tissue-guard. They are clean and fresh. Marbled endpapers. Evidence of attempt to remove book-plate from front free endpaper. Armorial book-plate of George Thomas Orlando Bridgeman on front pastedown. He was a British clergyman and antiquary who lived from 1823-1895, son of the 2nd Earl of Bradford. Please see photos.
