Now in an archival quality (removable) Brodart cover.A small Louisiana regional volume pairing the nature poetry of Mary Elizabeth Land (b. 1908, Natchitoches) with color photographs by John C. Guillet, an award-winning photographer from the same town. Short meditative verses interleaved with full-page color images of flowers, foliage, and horses. Mary Land was a Louisiana writer best known regionally for Louisiana Cookery (1954) and New Orleans Cuisine (1969), and the author of two earlier poetry collections (Shadows of the Swamp; Abode). Guillet's photographs also appeared in the Service League of Natchitoches's Cane River Cuisine and in Eastman Kodak's Applied Photography. Scarce.
