Förlagsband, dek. skyddsomslag. Gott skick. Stockholm, Gidlunds, 1977. 8:o. 244 sid. "William Morris: Arts and Politcs", in Swedish, edited by Gun Kessle, translated by Maj & Paul Frisch.

No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Collection of three original documents related to the Portland Gun Club of Portland, Oregon. No date, circa 1937/38-1960. 8 1/2" x 11" to 8 1/2" x 13." Twelve pages. Each document is very clean and intact except for age toning, the occasional small mark, and a few wrinkles, bumps, and fold lines. Each document and the entire collection are Very Good. The Portland Gun Club was organized in 1907 and incorporated in 1912. The Club was a meeting place for members so they could practice shooting, hold shooting contests, and engage in other sports and recreational activities. The Portland Gun Club is still active to this day. The following is a summary of the three documents. (1) Mimeograph in black ink on white paper (c. 1960, 2 pp.): "History of the Portland Gun Club" by Peter Rexford. Rexford was a founding member of the club. He discusses locations used by the club, the original 1907 membership roster, and a list of the club's presidents and other officers. At the time of his writing, Rexford was the last surviving member from the 1907 roster. (2) Handwritten letter in black pen on beige lined paper (c. 1960, 3 pp.) by William Alfred Carter. William Alfred Carter (1874-1967) was a Portland lawyer and member of the Portland Gun Club who handled legal affairs for the club. In his letter, he provides information on the club's original incorporation in 1912 and its conversion to a non-profit corporation in the 1930s, both matters which he handled. (3) Carbon typescript in black ink on light beige paper (c. 1937/38, 7 pp.): "By-Laws of the Portland Gun Club." These bylaws were used to convert the Club to a non-profit when it was determined that the then-current shareholder arrangement made shareholders liable for taxes on land owned by the Club. The bylaws cover many topics including the purposes of the Club, membership terms, and duties of officers.
