Unbound. Condition: Fine. Exhibition announcement. Cover by Ben Shahn. One quarto sheet of vivid, deep red coated paper folded twice to make four pages. Printed in blue throughout. Fine with a tiny bit of wear. A stunning announcement for a 1952 exhibition tempera, watercolor, and drawings by Ben Shahn at pioneering art dealer Edith Gregor Halpert's The Downtown Gallery. The final page prints Halpert's stable of artists at the time. In 2019-20 The Jewish Museum celebrated Halpert and her contribution to contemporary American art (and folk art) by hosting the exhibition "Edith Halpert and the Rise of American Art." A beautiful advertisement.
