The first edition of this scarce volume ofCoterie, a quarterly of art, prose, and poetry. An important magazine of the inter-war literary and artistic scene in England, it was mainly dedicated to modernist poetry, but also published pieces of fiction, criticism, and art. Published such writers as T. S. Eliot, Aldous Huxley and sharing the arts of visual artists including Edward Wadsworth, Amadeo Modigliani, Nina Hamnett, and Moise Kisling.This volume edited by Russell Green, with the wraps design by Nina Hamnett. With contributions by Roy Campbell, Oscar Wild with 'To M. B.-J' presumably inscribed to Margaret Burne-Jones, and Thomas Moult among others. With eleven full page plates representing the arts of J Rubczak, Nelson, Zavado, Kisling, Rene Durey, and others. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's wraps. Externally rather worn with some shelf wear and edge wear, chipping throughout, and some considerable loss to the spine. General light soiling to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor staining mark to the title page affecting only the right margin of the leaves of plates, otherwise the pages are generally clean and fairly browned to the leaves of text, as usual due to the type of paper used. With eleven full page plates. Collated, complete. Good. book.
