This autobiographical story depicts a portrait of English middle-class culture in the early 20th century, by Norman Hancock. To the dust wrapper is a lithograph by the notable artist John Piper, which is repeated to the title page over a double page. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally in excellent condition, though spine is somewhat slanted. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for offsetting to the end papers. Dust wrapper is very smart apart from a little chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Fine. book.
