Condition: Near fine. First printing. Signed first edition of this foundational work of street art from the pop art superstar. Haring's subway drawings began around the dawn of the 1980s and arose from the artist's accidental observation that when advertising panels in subway stations were empty and waiting for new ads, they were covered with a matte black paper. Haring began carrying chalk wherever he went and dropped into stations throughout the city to draw on these panels. The work became immediately popular and recognizable: the radiant baby, the barking dog, the dancing humans, the flying saucers, and other various interlocking kinetic forms pulsing with energy. The style owed something to graffiti and street art, but also something to cartoons and even ancient pictograms. The MTA did not share Haring or the public's enthusiasm, however, and the artist was repeatedly arrested. By the time of his first gallery show in 1982, the subway drawings had trailed off considerably, but they were indispensable in defining not only Haring's style, but his approach: accessible, democratic. ART IN TRANSIT remains an important record of this decidedly ephemeral but important part of Haring's work and career. 7.75'' x 8''. Original color photographic wrappers. $12.95 cover price. [96] pages. Signed by Haring with his trademark plus sign in silver marker to page after Haring's foreword showing the artist being arrested for "criminal mischief." Trace shelfwear. Overall bright and sharp. Signed.

An iconic manually reworked silkscreen on handmade paper by Keith Haring, featuring a joyful New Year message : Happy New Year 1989 ! The work was designed as a New Years card for Galerie Hans Mayer, Düsseldorf, a gallery that played a pivotal role in the dissemination of Harings work in Europe. ** The silkscreen is manually reworked, signed, and dated in black : Keith 89, accompanied by Harings characteristic symbol. ** In addition, it bears a printed red signature in the lower left within the composition. ** The artwork showcases Harins unmistakable visual language, with dynamic dancing figures rendered in bold red lines, energized by black accents and rhythmic movement. The composition reflects his signature blend of street art, pop art, and graphic immediacy, making it instantly recognizable. ** The celebratory message : Happy New Year 1989! , gains additional significance through its historical context: 1989 was the final year of Harings life, giving the work a unique emotional and art-historical resonance. ** This example is particularly rare, as it was produced before the addition of the gallery imprint. It also retains the original fold, consistent with its function as a mailed New Year greeting, further enhancing its authenticity and collectible appeal. ** The work is professionally framed, mounted on black linen, floated presented in an acid-free passe-partout, in a custom-made black wooden frame with Plexiglas® Optical HC (UV protection, scratch-resistant, minimal reflection). Framed size: approx. 65 × 85 cm ** Keith Haring (1958 -1990) is one of the most influential artists of the late 20th century and a key figure in New York street art and pop art. His work is defined by direct visual communication, bold iconography, and strong social engagement. Haring collaborated with major contemporaries such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, and his work is held in leading museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art and the Tate. The market for Keith Haring remains exceptionally strong, with sustained international demand for both unique works and limited edition prints, making this rare early piece a highly desirable acquisition for collectors of contemporary art, pop art, and street art. # Authenticity and provenance guaranteed. # Delivered with a certificate of authenticity. # Worldwide shipping, tax-friendly to the USA and other countries. # Custom handmade framing available on request. .

Keith Haring : Original Drawing on Catalogue Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam 1986. ** This exceptional and unique work by Keith Haring is an original drawing in black marker, executed on the inner cover of the catalogue : Keith Haring Stedelijk Museum 86. This exhibition in Amsterdam was his first major museum solo exhibition. ** The work is hand-signed and dated in black felt-tip pen with the personal inscription : Love, Keith 1986. ** The drawing is made on a photographic image of Keith Haring and his sister, in which the artist has playfully and characteristically transformed the figures: his sister appears as a devil with horns and a tail, while Haring depicts himself as an angel with wings and a halo. On the T-shirt, his iconic radiant baby is visible, one of the most recognizable symbols within his oeuvre. ** The complete catalogue is included. The front, executed as a silkscreen, is visible through the plexiglass back of the frame. The publication itself contains rare photographs, early works, and an extensive interview, and forms an important document within the art history of Keith Haring. ** The exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 1986 marked a crucial moment in Haring's career. It was his first major museum solo exhibition and confirmed his international breakthrough. For this occasion, he also created a monumental site-specific artwork, a massive canvas of approximately 12 × 20 meters, completed in a single day, accompanied by music and in the presence of press and public. ** In addition to the exhibition, Haring worked throughout the city of Amsterdam, collaborating with local graffiti artists to create several works. His monumental mural on the Jan van Galenstraat, often described as a playful dinosaur form, remains his largest surviving public artwork in Europe and highlights his lasting influence on street art and urban culture. #### Professionally framed, mounted on purple linen and floated within a double acid-free passe-partout, presented in a custom-made wooden frame with Plexiglas Optical HC (UV protection, scratch-resistant, minimal reflection). Framed size: approx. 65 × 75 cm ** Keith Haring (1958 - 1990) became one of the most influential artists of the late 20th century. Emerging from the New York graffiti scene, he developed a visual language that was both accessible and socially engaged. His work connects pop art, street art, and neo-expressionism, addressing themes of identity, love, politics, and social justice # Authenticity and provenance guaranteed. # Delivered with a certificate of authenticity. # Worldwide shipping, tax-friendly to the USA and other countries. # Custom handmade framing available on request. .

Sourced directly from the George Mulder Foundation archives, this is a premier collector's item featuring two distinct original signatures. Key Features & Specifications ** Unique Drawing in silver marker with Signature by Keith Haring ** Featuring the iconic 'Triple-Eyed Face'  ** Hand-signed in silver marker  by Keith Haring ** Drawn on the linen front cover of Limited edition Catalogue - bound in premium deep blue linen. ** Catalogue included - Hand-signed on the original white paper dust jacket by William S. Burroughs ** Artists: Keith Haring & William S. Burroughs. ** Publisher: George Mulder Fine Arts, New York *** The work is professionally framed in our own frame-shop, mounted in a custom-made white wooden frame, fitted with high-quality Art Glass. Size framed approx. 45 x 45 cm. ** The catalogue itself measures approximately 32.5 cm. *** The Apocalypse project represents a historic intersection of 20th-century avant-garde art and literature. Originally a portfolio of ten large-format silkscreens, Haring's feverish lines visualize Burroughs' raw, 'cut-up' texts. The work captures the turbulent spirit of the late 1980s, addressing the AIDS crisis, religious dogmas, and the fear of societal collapse. Inside this catalogue, a visionary spectacle unfolds: no cheerful figures, but a possessed cosmos of spirits, demons, and religious symbolism. *** The Philosophy of Apocalypse : In his stirring introduction, William S. Burroughs describes the not as an ending, but as a liberation. He argues that true art does not belong behind glass or on a pedestal; it must "spill out" of its frames?just as Keith Haring's graffiti reclaimed the walls of the subway.mAccording to Burroughs, reality is an illusion or a dream (Nothing is true, everything is permitted). The artist's task is to perform a miracle: to make the image come alive until it steps off the canvas. For him, the 'Apocalypse' is the moment art shatters the boundaries of reality, allowing a raw, unprecedented life force?the 'Pandemonium'?to flood in. It is a manifesto for art that does not merely represent reality, but fundamentally transforms it. ** Catalogue contains Complete Artwork Overview: High-quality reproductions of all 10 Apocalypse artworks. Each image is paired with Burroughs' corresponding text, showcasing the full visual and textual dialogue. ** Behind-the-Scenes: It is also a Unique photo documentation showing both artists working side-by-side on the original pieces, offering a rare look at their creative process. ** Condition : Official exhibition copy. Despite its history in exhibitions, it remains in excellent condition; the linen binding is sturdy and the interior is perfectly preserved. ** Provenance : Sourced directly from the George Mulder Foundation. As the original publisher of the Apocalypse project, the Foundation guarantees the highest level of authenticity and historical significance.   # Authenticity and provenance guaranteed. # Delivered with a certificate of authenticity. # Worldwide shipping, tax-friendly to the USA and EU countries. # Custom handmade framing available on request. .

    ### The Valley - Original Drawing ### An exceptional and extremely rare object by Keith Haring : the original copper etching plate on which he directly incised his composition into the metal. This is an actual matrix for one of The Valley etching. The lines were carved by hand by Keith Haring into the copper. ** The portfolio The Valley contains sixteen etchings by Keith Haring. All sixteen hand-drawn on copper plates by Keith Haring in April 1989 in his New York studio. *** This is the actual matrix for one of them.  ** This plate is the physical source from which etchings were printed. ** As explicitly stated in the Colophon of The Valley: the sixteen images were drawn by Keith Haring and printed from 10 x 9 inch copper plates in black ink. The text by William S. Burroughs was copied by hand and subsequently photo-etched onto copper plates and printed in red ink. ** The distinction is essential and clearly defined in the Colophon: the images are hand-drawn into copper; the text is photo-etched. ** What photographs barely convey is the extraordinary precision of execution. In the copper, one encounters a deeply moving concentration. Every single line is placed exactly where it belongs?without correction, without hesitation. While Haring is widely known for his monumental works executed with bold, sweeping gestures, this copper plate reveals another dimension of his practice: absolute control, discipline, and refinement on an intimate scale. ** Working directly into copper is highly exceptional within Harings oeuvre. The act of physically incising the line into metal belongs to only a very limited number of projects in his career. The tangible presence of the original matrix, the technical perfection, and the clear documentation in the Colophon elevate this object to museum-level significance. The provenance is fully verifiable and transparently documented?something that is not always self-evident within the market surrounding Keith Haring. This clarity of origin further reinforces the authenticity and the exceptional nature of the work. ** The plate is presented in a custom plexiglass box, combined with the original linen case of The Valley, creating a striking and museum-quality presentation that powerfully unites the source matrix with the finished portfolio. Size case : approx 85 x 50 x 4 cm # Authenticity and provenance guaranteed. # Delivered with a certificate of authenticity. # Worldwide shipping, tax-friendly to the USA and EU countries. # Custom handmade framing available on request. .

Printed by Rupert Jasen Smith, with his blind stamp. This is one of ten prints from the Apocalypse portfolio. Haring was as much a social activist as he was an artist, using his work as a platform to confront and promote awareness of social issues, in particular the AIDS crisis. Haring developed AIDS in 1988, succumbing to the disease in 1990. In the years before his death, he worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the epidemic through his art, advocating for safe sex and fighting the growing stigma surrounding the disease. As part of this, Haring created the Apocalypse series in 1988 in collaboration with writer William S. Burroughs. Recurring motifs in the series include horned devil sperm and sexual imagery juxtaposed with Christian iconography and Renaissance paintings. Littmann, p. 109. Edition of 90. Screenprint on Lenox Museum board. Signed, dated and numbered in pencil by Haring. Sheet size: 96.5 x 96.5 cm. Framed size: 98 x 98 cm. Presented in an acrylic box frame. Excellent condition.
