The author, a respected tewa-Hopi elder who was born in 1888, recalls what life was like in the early days. He weaves into his recollections the old legends, the ancient traditions and beliefs, and the oral histories of the wandering clans that came together on the Arizona mesas to become the Hopi people. He reflects on the past and present and on the inner tensions of Hopi ceremonial life and social organization. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
