Einzige Buchhandelsausgabe seiner seltenen Dissertation, mit eigenhändiger Widmung des Verfassers auf dem Umschlag. - Der österreichische Arzt und Chemiker Heller (1813-1871), ein Pionier der chemischen Harndiagnostik, gilt als einer der Begründer der Klinischen Chemie. Er entdeckte wichtige Reaktionen u.a. zum Nachweis von Zucker, Eiweiß und Blut im Harn. "Seine Entdeckung der Herstellung der Rhodizonsäure aus den anorganischen Stoffen Kohlenstoff und Pottasche im Jahr 1837 gehört zusammen mit der Darstellung der Krokonsäure, die 1835 auf dem gleichen Wege erhaltenen worden war, zu den ersten Synthesen organischer Verbindungen" (Wikipedia). - Stempel auf Titel.
