Add to basketHardback. Condition: New. Reg Bunn, Charles Henry Chapman (illustrator). Hard Cover. Book Palace Books August 2024. Deluxe Limited Collectors' edition of 500 copies Limited Edition. Book condition: New. Black & White illustrations. Tales of Greyfriars' "Owl of the Remove" with complete Billy Bunter comic strips from the Comet. Billy Bunter had a long career at Fleetway. He began in hugely popular text stories and then went on to further fame as a purely slapstick character in the pages of Knockout and Valiant, where his depiction was almost totally unrelated to his original conception. The strips that appeared in Comet take us firmly back to the roots that established the popularity of the characters: exciting dramatic adventures featuring not only Billy Bunter but also the cast of other Greyfriars characters. This volume comprises the very best of the Comet Billy Bunter dramatic strips, including all those drawn by Reg Bunn and C.H. Chapman that most admirers would consider the pick of the crop, or as Billy Bunter might say, the icing on the cake The Famous Five by Reg Bunn Greyfriars School by Charles Henry Chapman Bunter of Greyfriars by Charles Henry Chapman A Book Palace Books publication. 224 pages. Add to basketHardback. Condition: New. When, why, and how early humans began to eat meat are three of the most fundamental unresolved questions in the study of human origins. Before 2.5 million years ago the presence and importance of meat in the hominid diet is unkown. After stone tools appear in the fossil record it seems clear that meat was eaten in increasing quantities, but whether it was obtained through hunting or scavenging remains a topic of intense debate. This book takes a novel and strongly interdisciplinary approach to the role of meat in the early hominid diet, inviting well-known researchers who study the human fossil record, modern hunter-gatherers, and nonhuman primates to contribute chapters to a volume that integrates these three perspectives. Stanford's research has been on the ecology of hunting by wild chimpanzees. Bunn is an archaeologist who has worked on both the fossil record and modern foraging people. This will be a reconsideration of the role of hunting, scavening, and the uses of meat in light of recent data and modern evolutionary theory. There is currently no other book, nor has there ever been, that occupies the niche this book will create for itself.

13pp. Thin octavo [23 cm] Light green and black printed wraps. Very good. The covers and pages are lightly creased and age-toned. There are multiple small losses from the paper along the fold of the spine and the edges of the wraps. A small tissue repair has been made to the top right corner of the front wrap. The wraps are mildly abraded and have multiple scratched indentations. One of the scratched indentations is a faint numerical notation. In addition, there are numerous extremely tiny stains on the wraps. Includes a section on the Mormons and polygamy on p. 11. With a sheet of paper stating "Compliments of William M. Bunn, Governor of Idaho" mounted to the title page. Not in Flake/Draper.
