Condition: Good Plus. Some wear to corners and at head of spine. Light foxing to preliminaries, light age-toning along page edges, in particular, is uniform throughout the book. A bit shaken. However, the many charming illustrations within combined with pleasing typography makes this still a charming item. ***Author Jean de la Fontaine (1621 - 1695) was the most famous fabulist of French literature.** The artists include Henry Emy , which was the pseudonym of Armand Louis Tèlory (1820-1875), French illustrator and lithographer.
