One stereoview scalloped albumen photograph sized 6 x 3.2 in. mounted on salmon-coloured studio board sized 7 x 3.5 in., w/ faint rubber-stamped title below, former ownership stamp at lower corner verso (minor bowing to board, slight dustsoiling & rubbing), still VG exemplar w/ excellent contrast. An excellent album…en photo capturing the "Pillars of Hercules" or The Needles which were two towering basalt columns on the Oregon side of the Columbia River just downstream from Bridal Veil Falls, and depicting the tracks of the Oregon Railroad & Navigation Co. running between. Hale (1862-1935) originally worked for B.C. Towne as photographer from 1892-1894, and then with Benjamin Gifford from 1893-1915, before partering with Redmond, and finally becoming Hale Studio.
