"It has long been felt that the Official Army List, while in every way beyond criticism as a work of reference, lacks something of that human touch which alone can ensure for it the popularity and wide circulation which would so materially help to bring before the Great British Public a more general and intimate knowledge of the great service which is so constantly striving to ensure its safety and well-being." [From the Introductory Notice]. A promotional item for the Military Tailoring side of Moss Bros.'s business. Takes the form of facetious comments, in rhyme of course, on the style and content of the Army List with rather nicely drawn caricatures of Regimental "types". The only listed for Hicks on BLPC is a collection of illustrated verse entitled Salvoes from a Stone Frigate.
