Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. Hidy, Lance (illustrator). First Edition; First Printing. Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; A most unusual signed and inscribed copy of the 1st printing in immaculate condition. Inscribed on the dedication page and signed by both Carolyn Coman and Lance Hidy as well as their daugter Anna, whom it might be assumed is the the girl in the story. It is also inscribed and signed by "Mr Mudd and Louis" with each in turn signing both of their names. The book is dedicated to Anna, Louis and Monty (presumably Mr. Mudd of the story). The inscriptions are addressed to a couple who became friends with the authors and whom it is said in the inscription first met at Mr. Mudd's. Enigmatic and very warm inscriptions by all of the book's creators and protagonists. Quite unusual and rather unique thus. A color photograph of a "Mr. Mudd" doll on a table against a wall where several Hidy posters are displayed - is laid in at front. Dated 1996 New Haven. F/F; Signed by Author & Illustrator.
