First Edition. Original privately printed 121 page shooting script for the Robin Williams film Insomnia written by Hillary Seitz with revisions byChristopher Nolan. Signed and inscribed by Robin Williams: ÒRead on, Robin WilliamsÓ at a black & white photo of Robin Williams and Al Pacino in character. Beautifully bound in red cloth with title in gilt at the front board and spine, 8 5/8 inches by 11 1/8 inches, all edges gilt. Decorative endpapers. Fine. Unbeknownst to the many admirers of Robin Williams was that he was a lover of books. Over the years, Williams had his own private press specially printing on fine papers and handsomely binding editions of the screenplays of some of the films he appeared in. They were all printed in very small quantities. Williams would sign them and then they would be sent to members of the cast and crew of the productions. As a unique item, this is a special opportunity to honor and celebrate WilliamsÕs love of his craft, his love of books, and his appreciation of the people who helped to bring his films to life. Insomnia was directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Robin Williams, Al Pacino, Hilary Swank, and Martin Donovan. The film tells the story of Will Dormer (Pacino), a police detective who is sent to investigate a teenage girlÕs murder in a small fishing town in Alaska where he accidentally shoots his co-detective (Swank) and is afflicted by insomnia brought on by the guilt of his action and the incessant midnight sun.
