Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. H. Lawrence Hoffman (illustrator). 1st Edition. 8vo., 310pp. Sharp First Edition. Bound in quarter black cloth over purple paper-covered boards with titles in gilt on spine. Square, tight and clean throughout save a couple of errant spots on the end-papers and fore-edge but quite minor. No toning to pages. Little other wear. Attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($6.95), has a couple of tiny nicks to the crown and a touch of rubbing but is fresh and bright with no creases or tears. Though not marked in any way, this came directly from the library of H. Lawrence Hoffman who illustrated the dust-jacket. His son, David Hoffman, the noted documentary filmmaker, has signed a statement with information about his father, the artist, and attesting that the book was from his library. A copy of this is included. A pretty collectable copy.
