Hardcover. Condition: Gut bis sehr gut. Z : 144 pp., 133 color illustrations - Three genres dominate Van Gogh's work from the beginning of his career to its end: the figure, the landscape and the still life. Van Gogh in Provence argues that Van Gogh's achievements as a modernist are best understood in relation to these tradition…al loyalties. Using vibrant colors, surging brushstrokes and daring compositions to give established motifs new, expressive form, Van Gogh built a modern house on a traditional foundation.

Softcover. Condition: Gut bis sehr gut. 1. Auflage. B : 7 x 9.75 in., 244 pages, 82 color & 168 bw. illustrations - In 1963, Nam June Paik created a new genre of exhibition with his first solo show, The Exposition of Electronic Music-Electronic Television at Galerie Parnass in Wuppertal, West Germany. Fresh from his studies with… John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen, and already a Fluxus veteran, Paik created a disorienting environment that foreshadowed much of what was to come in the 1960s: visitors, greeted at the entrance by a freshly slaughtered ox head, were not only confronted with the newness of the electronic image in Paik's TV monitors, but also found themselves integrated into a Dadaistic installation that included prepared pianos, mechanical sound objects, record players and audio tape installations. Exposition reconstructs this landmark show.

First edition, first print of this photo-book documenting the 29 days between Germany's annexation of Austria on March 12, 1938, and the April 10 referendum crowning Hitler's achievement…. The referendum question was: Do you agree with the reunification of Austria with the German Reich that was enacted on 13 March 1938 and do you vote for the list of our leader Adolf Hitler? The result was reported as 99.73% in favor, with a 99.71% turnout. The 73 striking b/w photographic reproductions depict Hitler during several speeches given throughout Germany and Austria, and starting in Königsberg on March 26, in which he launched the referendum campaign. The Fuehrer is also seen addressing crowds in Leipzig, Berlin, Hamburg, Köln, Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, München, Graz, Klagenfurt, Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Linz. His last address on the matter was held on April 9, at the Nordwestbahnhof, in Vienna. The photographs were taken by Heinrich Hoffmann, Hitler's personal photographer, and they show the Fuhrer being greeted by and talking to large and enthusiastic crowds. Moderate rubbing along edges of wrappers. Text and captions in German. Wrappers in overall good+, interior in very good condition. First edition, 1st print (1. bis 50. Tausend).
