Condition: Some slight toning. Fine. Watercolor and grisaille on paper, signed in pencil lower right. 1 vols. 11-1/2 x 9 inches. Watercolor sketch of gauchos, with the central figure riding a white horse on the turn, dropping a lasso over the head of a dark horse with white blaze. For an unidentified magazine commission. Gilbert Holiday (1879-1937) artist, soldier, and keen horseman, was a prolific illustrator for The Graphic, Tatler, and the Illustrated London News, and a talented artist of the sporting life.
