Original publisher's yellow wraps with very attractive cover illustration in colour showing children dancing. pp 71, Faint wear, VG+. Colour covers notably fresh. Jeanne Hovine was a Belgian comedienne, who is best known under her stage name Anne-Marie Ferrieres. Although the centenarian (died age 104) devoted her entire life to theatre and radio, she made her debut in the comics field. Together with her sister Laure she created the comic strip 'Nic et Nac' (1924). She was the first female comic artist in her country.

Ensemble des huit premiers recueils des aventures des jumeaux Nic et Nac. Chaque double-page constitue une historiette joliment illustrée en noir par Jeanne Hovine. Elle met en scène ce duo espiègle et farceur très identifiable par leu costume à damier. Ces histoires furent initialement publiées une fois par semaine dans le journal belge "Le Soir" entre 1924 et 1927. Les différents albums portent les titres : "Les exploits de Nic et Nac", "Nic et Nac", "Nic-Nac et quelques autres", "Nouveaux exploits de Nic et Nac" puis "cinquième", "sixième", "septième" et "huitième album de Nic et Nac". Onze albums paraîtront au total.Anne-Marie Ferrières, née Jeanne Hovine (1888 - 1992) est une comédienne de théâtre et de cinéma belge. Elle est aussi la première illustratrice belge de bande dessinée. Les exploits de Nic et Nac paraissent dans le journal jusqu'en 1934.Excellent état.
