Book has light bumping to corners and spine edges and slight discolouring to the spine and some parts of the edges and light tanning to the pages. Unclipped DJ has some creasing/rubbing and chipping to the edges and corners, a small piece missing at the bottom of the spine and some tanning to the back and inside jacket. Internally the pages are otherwise clean and tight and there are no tears or other inscriptions, although there are a couple of numbers written on the Contents page and a short vertical line drawn beside paragraphs on four or five pages - the text itself is not affected. Signed and inscribed to a previous owner by Ogdon on the title page. Also included is a signed private letter from the author to the same gentleman. J. A. Howard Ogdon's account of his struggle with schizophrenia details his self-proclaimed recovery from the disease. The book describes his journey from institutionalization to freedom, a recovery he largely achieved through his own efforts and mental disciplines like Yoga, and includes his criticisms of the mental health system at the time. ***** Free shipping available to UK buyers.
